Thai Yoga
Thai yoga stems from a unique healing system, which is called Nuad Boran and is widely known as traditional Thai massage. The practice is performed individually with a client or recipient and the practitioner. The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of postures similiar to those within a yoga practice. The postures stretch the body much like a yoga practice, however the recipient is passive and the muscles are relaxed. The practitioner finds the client's edge within the stretch and then uses a variety of healing modalities including acupressure, rhythmic massage, palming and thumbing energy lines and Marma points, breathing techniques and mediation techniques to bring the systems of the body into balance.
The session also includes a foot, hand and head massage with ayurvedic oils and lotion. Warm clothes are used on the feet and eyes. Heated neck wraps and hot rocks are placed on the back and shoulders. This further assists in relaxing the body and opening tightened muscles. The result is a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, increases flexibility, improves circulation, boosts the immune system, balances the body energetically, and brings the recipient into a relaxed meditative state. Thai yoga is a great way to begin or strengthen a yoga practice.

Ayurveda & Thai Yoga
Ayurvedic Thai yoga is also offered for clients interested in the practice of Ayurveda. During the first session a client’s dosha is determined and then each Thai session is adjusted to assist in balancing the dosha. Each Thai yoga posture has specific affects on the client's constitution, therefore posture sequences are individually designed for restoring balance. In addition, dosha specific energy lines and Marma points are worked at a pace that is determined by Ayurvedic principles. The practitioner uses essential oils and ayurvedic lotions. After each session the client receives practical ayurvedic lifestyle tips for improved health.
